lyrics
Pale air leaving the faintest trace of where you’ve been
White oak swaying behind in the wind
Blaze from a low sun
Catch your breath before it's too late
Too late to run
Cold comfort only
Closing doors draw quiet in
For the wild and lonely, a bittersweet ending
All the light we lost
Now ashes over embers
Winter always hangs around too long
Pale eyes burning
Gazing down, then fixed away
Hovering kestrel knows the brevity of days
Blaze from a low sun
Catch my breath before it’s too late
Too late to run
Cold comfort only
Closing doors draw quiet in
For the wild and lonely, a bittersweet ending
All the light we gave
Now embers under ashes
Everything is turning, turning gray
Blaze from low sun - heavy in that haze
Blaze from low sun - racing to the edge
Catch your breath before it’s gone
Catch your breath before it’s gone
Catch your breath before it’s too late
Blaze from a low sun
Caught my breath, it was too late
Too late to run
And all the light we gave
Now ashes over embers
Falling and fading in that pale air
Catch your breath before it’s gone
It’s too late

This album is amazing from start to finish! It's got such a cool, poetic, punk rock vibe. Hits the soul, for real. Please come play in Miami, Florida soon! Thank you for your art! richnice1975

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
