Back up at the crooked pass
A slow burn or a sneak attack
Turn away, turn around, turning pages It’s
always the same - everything changes
When the light turns low
Are you afraid to go there?
Oh the ride, the ride the ride - it’s complicated
How do we ever get by without sedation
Are you happy now?
Took one for the team and then they let you down
Go, go, go, ahead
One less hand out for the taking
Go, go, go, go on
Put it in your pocket, save it for later
Go, go, go, get ready for takeoff
Conditions are dangerous
Oh, are they ever gonna find us?
Back lit in a dream
Like a faultline coming clean, come clean
Overrated, overstated, everybody is jaded
I’m slipping through the cracks in the pavement
Are you translucent now?
Blinding lights wearing you out
Oh, the lie, the lie, the lies - they’re penetrating
How do we ever survive all that predation?
Are you happy now?
Took one for the team and then they let you drown
Go, go, go ahead
Find your friends in all the high places
Go, go, go, go on
Put ‘em in your pocket, save them for later
Go, go, go, get ready for takeoff
Conditions are dangerous
Oh, are they gonna wait for us?
When there are no moves left to fake
No breath left to save
When we look into the quiet
Is there a storm that didn’t break?
When we fall into the fire
Do only bones remain, or
Can we get just a little more time?
I don’t know, I’ve got no plan
But to walk beside and hold your hand
High places are gonna set us free
And all the light to wash us clean
Like an accident that realigns
No mapping the stars, no reading the signs
All we need is just a little more time
Just a little more time
This album is amazing from start to finish! It's got such a cool, poetic, punk rock vibe. Hits the soul, for real. Please come play in Miami, Florida soon! Thank you for your art! richnice1975
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
